Chain of Office FIAMC President

“Office Chain President of Catholic Doctors’ Congress”

VII International Congress: The Hague 1956, The Netherlands.

As a permanent reminder of the Congress held in the Netherlands, in the first scientific session of the congress on September 10 which was presided by the Belgian honorary member of the R.C. Doctors Association Dr. M. Wibo, congress chairman Dr. W Weebers offered a chain for presidents that can be carried by the presidents of the congress in the future.

The chain of which we place an image, was both by Dr. M. Wibo, as well as later by the international chairman Prof. dr. L. Geddo, accepted with great appreciation as the first possession of the international Catholic doctors’ organization.

The chain is a good proof of the ability of the Utrecht goldsmith Leo Brom. The offer of this gift was made possible by a gift from the life insurance company “ERK” in Nijmegen.

The chain is composed of a series of twelve three-part links, which are interconnected by oval medallions, on which an embossed golden aesculape emblem is affixed.

In the middle there is a richly profiled medallion with an embossed image of Christ, encased in a frame of golden letters that form the inscription “Christus Medicus”. At the bottom of this medallion as a pendentive, an emblem of Saint Luke in gold-plated silver.

Distributed over six links, the chain is marked with the text “Medicus totius hominis cuiusque Medicana” in forged silver letters. On the back of the chain, the names of the various cities where the congress has been meeting since 1935 have been engraved.

VIIe Congrès international: La Haye 1956, Pays Bas.

Ambtsketen Voorzitter Katholiek Artsencongres.

VIIe Internationaal Congres: Den Haag 1956, Nederland.
