Dear colleagues,
With sadness we learned the news of the death of the very beloved Cardinal Dionigi Tettamanzi, for many years Archbishop of Milan and National Assistant of the Italian Catholic Doctors Association.
Catholic doctors in Europe remind him of emotion and affection and join in prayer to Italian Catholic doctors, thanking the Lord for the extraordinary gift to the Church, the poor, the sick, the doctors, offered by Cardinal Tettamanzi with the Episcopal ministry in Milan , In the AMCI and in Europe.
His words at the FEAMC Congress in Rome in 2012 are the message that we bring and will always bring to our hearts: “Faith does not take away from the multifaceted richness of the human ingenuity of physicians and their associates, but purifies and directs their reason Scientific and clinical and guide their footsteps on the paths of true love to those who suffer. This is, ultimately, the purpose of medicine, which we have to rediscover and to make it clear to young people in Europe who will take our place. ”
Really great is the emotion of colleagues from all over Europe for the disappearance of Cardinal Tettamanzi, a sign of what he has positively engraved in our consciences and in our associations.
We are close to you with affection and prayer.

Cari Colleghi,
Con tristezza abbiamo appreso la notizia della morte dell’amatissimo Cardinale Dionigi Tettamanzi, per molti anni Arcivescovo di Milano e Assistente Nazionale dell’Associazione Medici Cattolici Italiani.
I medici cattolici d’Europa lo ricordano con commozione ed affetto e si uniscono nella preghiera ai medici cattolici italiani, ringraziando il Signore per lo straordinario dono alla Chiesa, ai poveri, ai malati, ai medici, offerto dal Cardinale Tettamanzi col ministero episcopale in Milano, nell’AMCI e in Europa.
Le sua parole al Congresso della FEAMC a Roma del 2012 sono il messaggio che noi portiamo e porteremo sempre nel cuore: “La fede non toglie nulla alla multiforme ricchezza dell’ingegno umano dei medici e dei loro collaboratori, ma purifica e orienta la loro ragione scientifica e clinica e guida i loro passi sui sentieri dell’autentico amore verso chi soffre. E’ questo, ultimamente, lo scopo della medicina, che dobbiamo riscoprire noi e far scoprire ai giovani che in Europa prenderanno il nostro posto”.
Davvero grande è la commozione dei colleghi di tutta Europa per la scomparsa del Cardinale Tettamanzi, segno di quanto egli abbia positivamente inciso nelle nostre coscienze e nelle nostre associazioni.
Vi siamo vicini con l’affetto e la preghiera.
