Rastrelli

FROM DEACON ALAN RASTRELLI, M.D.

We are in the throes of unimaginable sorrow.

Our beautiful 2 yo Lulu died in her sleep last night. She was her wonderful, beautiful self last night when she went to bed, sharing her irrepressible spirit with all of us. That same spirit is bringing many irrepressible smiles in heaven as she is now a powerful prayer warrior for us—and especially her mom.

I always dreaded ever having to console one of my children at losing their child. It is by far the hardest, most heart-wrenching time I’ve ever experienced. It has thrown me prostrate. Uncontrollable weeping.

I never imagined I could be struck with such a painful sword. And the bigger sword pierced my precious daughter, Alli-oh what pain! God had already asked so much faith, strength, bravery, hope, trust, and love from Alli -and she answered with the strongest faith ever. And she brought those comforting gifts to so many others who needed her. Now my little girl is broken! I feel so inadequate in consoling my daughter, and I ask(need) for your tremendous prayers for all of us.

May Alli; our wonderful son(in-law), Tyler; 4yo Makenna: and newborn twins Kya Faith, and Kiana Grace, be lifted up by your prayers, surrounded by their angels, and caressed by our Blessed Mother Mary, as she brings our cries for comfort before her merciful Son, so Alli, and all of us, can be restored.

This life is precious—but Eternal life in heaven is most precious and what we are “living” for. Lulu has been received by her Father-may she pray us through this and into heaven when God receives us to Himself.

We thank you all for all your prayers and support.
