A New President for the Catholic Medical Association – Dr. Peter Morrow

(ST. CLOUD, Fla.)— On February 4, 2015, Dr. Peter Morrow, Internal Medicine physician and employed physician at St. Cloud Regional Medical Center, was sworn in as the President of the Catholic Medical Association (CMA). Dr. Morrow is now the 2015 President of the largest association of Catholic health care professionals in the United States.

Dr. Morrow is a Board Certified Internist with added qualifications in Geriatric Medicine. He has been practicing in St. Cloud and Osceola County for over 20 years. “We are proud to have Dr. Morrow as part of our medical team at St. Cloud Medical Group and at St. Cloud Regional,” said Brent Burish, CEO at St. Cloud Regional Medical Center. “Dr. Morrow’s accomplishments are evident in the way he treats his patients, collaborates with colleagues, and serves his community. His new designation is well deserved.”

In a statement from Mario R. Dickerson, M.T.S., Executive Director of the Catholic Medical Association, Dr. Morrow is described as “a respected and natural leader among the CMA membership, so it was only natural for the members to elect him as President. His powerful vision to positively impact health care policies and raise awareness of important medical and ethical issues gives hope not only to our membership, but to the communities we serve throughout the United States.”

As a community-oriented and faith-driven physician, Dr. Morrow has placed a lot of emphasis on serving those around him. Dr. Morrow is highly involved in his church, including leading as the Medical Director at the church’s free clinic, St. Thomas Aquinas Medical Clinic.

Dr. Morrow has also been very involved in the Osceola County Council on Aging, which assists the elderly, disadvantaged, and disabled in Osceola County. The Council on Aging runs a free medical clinic where Dr. Morrow sees patients and serves as Medical Director. “Dr. Morrow is a man of strong faith, loving heart and great talent,” stated Beverly Hougland, CEO of the Osceola Council on Aging. “It is an honor to have him as our Medical Director for our free clinic.”
