Magdalena Słodzinka, the head of the organization Watato Children of Africa, sends us updates on their newly constructed Ruhango Health Centre building in Rwanda. “The building process will be ongoing until the end of this year,” Magdalena states.

“MaterCare will be funding the equipment as well as will be involved with the operations helping along the maternal health project,” says Simon Walley. “This is just one component of Project Rwanda. We will build up the project in the villages around Ruhango, as well as Masaka and Rusheshe.”

While global maternal mortality has been almost halved since 1990, 99% of maternal deaths occur in developing regions like Ruhango.
