The primary objective of the conference is for the lay faithful to understand what Pope Leo XIV meant when he said, “Christians and Muslims and live harmoniously”. In the July 18, 2026 event with the theme, “Understanding Islam”, which will be held at the Holiday Plaza Hotel, Cebu, Philippines, it is expected that people will come to know and understand the basics about Islam religion.

The event also encourages respectful Christian-Muslin dialogue. Likewise to strengthen harmony and cooperation among faith communities. And finally to support peace, dignity and mutual respect.There will be two main speakers in the event, one a diocesan priest who will present the difference between the Christian belief and the Islam faith.

The second speaker, a lay brother who once lived for a long time in a predominantly muslim community will focus on sharing his experiences with his muslims neighbors Currently, there are about 8 million Filipino muslims in the country with our present population of 115 million. The Roman Catholic Christians remained as the predominant religion at 75%. The Philippines adopted the Catholic faith in 1521 or 505 years ago.  .
