Philadelphia, PA- June 17, 2021- The Catholic Medical Association is proud to announce its new television show, Vital Signs, will premiere on Shalom World on June 18, 2021.

The faith-based medical show is hosted by CMA Board Member and Micrographic Dermatologic Surgeon, Dr. Thomas McGovern. Dr. McGovern, along with CMA member guests, will provide expert insight for the every-day viewer through conversational episodes which cover a range of relevant topics from depression to contraception. A season promo video can be found here.

“Moving into the realm of television is a dream come true for the Catholic Medical Association! For our first television series, we chose the name Vital Signs because there is so much vital information regarding health that is hard for many to find among the extensive information available on the internet,” said Dr. McGovern.

The CMA Board set a goal in 2018 to become a content leader in healthcare and is extremely grateful for the volunteer hours that Dr. McGovern and all of our expert members have put into making this show a reality for the service of so many.

This season’s eight CMA guest experts (three psychiatrists, two pediatricians, two internal medicine sub-specialists, and one obstetrician) generously gave their time to record two episodes each for a first season total of 16 episodes full of useful information.

“Vital Signs is another manifestation of our being a content leader in health care. The show highlights the demand Catholics have to understand authentically Catholic healthcare so they can advocate for it with their physicians and healthcare professionals,” said Dr. Michael Parker, CMA President.

“We are eager to see how Vital Signs will advance the transformation of healthcare so that patients are treated body, mind and spirit,” added Dr. Parker.

In the season’s first episode, Dr. McGovern is joined by Dr. Chris Stroud to uncover the truth about contraception for women and families. The episode can be viewed live on June 18 at 9:30 p.m. ET/BST/AEST at this link:https://www.shalomworld.org/watchlive

“Our tag line, ‘your prescription for a healthy family,’ emphasizes that our CMA guest experts share pearls of wisdom that will particularly help families with children at home to achieve healthier lifestyles in harmony with the wisdom of the Catholic Church,” said Dr. McGovern.
