Siempre ha habido en la Iglesia como dos predicaciones, complementarias entre sí, verdaderas ambas, cuya intensidad se incrementa o disminuye según tiempos y personas concretas. Una afirma que el mal está muy extendido, que los seres humanos somos un desastre y que vendrá un castigo terrible en este mundo y en el otro. La otra dice que Dios es muy misericordioso y que quiere que todas las personas lleguen al conocimiento de la Verdad y vayan a una eternidad plena de felicidad. Pecado y gozo. Ambas predicaciones son correctas.

          Si bien es cierto que, por sí misma, la Misericordia es superior a la Justicia; no es menos cierto que la Justicia existe y se aplicará.

          Durante decenios, el Occidente civilizado y democrático ha aceptado que un ser humano sea destruido en el vientre de su madre. Lo aceptan muchas personas, de todos los niveles sociales y culturales, y ello se ha trasladado a leyes y costumbres. Incluso antes de que el aborto provocado estuviera despenalizado en España, no se castigaba a nadie por ello. La mayor parte de los partidos políticos aceptan al aborto con naturalidad en casi todo el mundo.

          El mandato de evitar matar al inocente y justo se halla inscrito en nuestra naturaleza humana y ha sido subrayado como uno de los mandamientos de la ley de Dios. Como médico y activista senior, no menosprecio los grandes sufrimientos y preocupaciones que tienen algunas madres en sus embarazos. Ello atenúa algo su responsabilidad moral. Sin embargo, la sociedad y la Medicina están para ayudar; nunca para dañar.

          El aborto procurado provoca extrañas reacciones en muchos: no te permiten hablar de “matar”, no te permiten exponer en público los restos de un aborto (con su cabeza, su cuerpo y sus extremidades), hablan de un derecho, lo comparan con una intervención cualquiera, no te permiten ni rezar cerca de los abortorios y casi sacan espuma por la boca cuando serenamente les hablas de la radical diferencia que hay entre la Cultura de la Vida y la de la Muerte.

          Desde hace ya muchos años se puede ver al embrión y al feto en el seno materno, la Neonatología ha avanzado mucho y salen adelante nacidos con unos pocos gramos de peso, hemos establecido un sistema de protección social que atiende infinitas necesidades, la información de lo que es un ser humano fluye y puede alcanzar al que desea ser informado. Y, sin embargo, la voluntad de muchos es que se sigan produciendo abortos. No se arrepienten, no cambian su actitud, no se abren al respeto de humano a humano, no hacen caso de Dios, no quieren creer que estemos en este mundo de paso y de prueba, no aceptan la ayuda de Dios. Son cerriles.

          Pero el ser humano ha sido creado libre, con una libertad limitada y ayudada, pero libre. Los que se empeñan en matar al inocente (y dejar a su madre con un trauma) y son impenitentes, ciertamente recibirán castigo. Han tenido y tienen oportunidad de enmendarse; y no lo hacen. Los inocentes serán resucitados, pero sus impenitentes mandantes de homicidio, por la dignidad que merece el humano libre, recibirán infierno. Aunque Dios no quiera.

          Lo mismo que digo sobre el aborto vale para guerras injustas y hambrunas provocadas.

Abortion: Punishment Will Come

There have always been two types of preaching in the Church, complementary to each other, both true, whose intensity increases or decreases according to specific times and people. One affirms that evil is widespread, that human beings are a disaster, and that a terrible punishment will come in this world and the next. The other says that God is very merciful and wants all people to come to the knowledge of the Truth and go to an eternity full of happiness. Sin and joy. Both preachings are correct.

While it is true that, in itself, Mercy is superior to Justice, it is no less true that Justice exists and will be applied.

For decades, the civilized and democratic West has accepted that a human being be destroyed in his mother’s womb. Many people, of all social and cultural levels, accept it, and this has translated into laws and customs. Even before induced abortion was decriminalized in Spain, no one was punished for it. Most political parties accept abortion as natural almost everywhere in the world.

The mandate to avoid killing the innocent and just is inscribed in our human nature and has been emphasized as one of the commandments of God’s law. As a senior doctor and activist, I do not underestimate the great suffering and worries that some mothers have during their pregnancies. This somewhat mitigates their moral responsibility. However, society and Medicine are there to help; never to harm.

Procured abortion provokes strange reactions in many: they do not allow you to speak of “killing,” they do not allow you to publicly display the remains of an abortion (with its head, body, and limbs), they speak of a right, they compare it to any other intervention, they do not even allow you to pray near the abortion clinics, and they almost foam at the mouth when you calmly tell them about the radical difference between the Culture of Life and the Culture of Death.

For many years now, the embryo and the fetus can be seen in the maternal womb, Neonatology has advanced greatly, and babies born with just a few grams of weight survive, we have established a system of social protection that attends to infinite needs, information about what a human being is flows and can reach those who wish to be informed. And yet, the will of many is that abortions continue to occur. They do not repent, they do not change their attitude, they do not open themselves to respect from human to human, they pay no attention to God, they do not want to believe that we are in this world in transit and on trial, they do not accept God’s help. They are stubborn.

But the human being has been created free, with a limited and assisted freedom, but free. Those who insist on killing the innocent (and leaving their mother traumatized) and are unrepentant, will certainly receive punishment. They have had and still have the opportunity to make amends; and they do not. The innocent will be resurrected, but their unrepentant masters of homicide, due to the dignity that the free human deserves, will receive hell. Even if God does not wish it.

NOTE What I say about abortion also applies to unjust wars and provoked famines.
