EVENT DATE: November 18, 2020

In medical school, we learn a lot about screening for suicidality, treating physical pain, and the bioethics of end-of-life issues. But, we learn little about how to come to grips with and cope with the suffering we will see in medicine on a daily basis, the rising prevalence of suicide among physicians and patients, and coping with patient loss. To this end, we have put together a multi-specialty panel to discuss encountering suffering and death in medicine from a Catholic perspective.

The panel will include Dr. John Constantino (child and adolescent psychiatry), Dr. Ashley Fernandes (physician-bioethicist), and Dr. Jane Lee (pediatrics ER). We encourage everyone to attend to discuss this critical topic!
