It cannot easily be denied that at the start of the 21st century, people across the globe started to experience different changes in the weather patterns such as the extremes in temperatures, stronger hurricanes, more frequent floods and the new emerging diseases which afflicted millions of people. We also noted more volcanoes erupting and stronger earthquakes that shocked many parts of the planet. Adding injury is the increasing tensions and unrest among countries in Asia, Europe and the Middle East. All of these contributed to the elevated levels of anxiety and uncertainties among the people.

And so, with the aim at updating the faithful with a deeper understanding with regards to these events, a conference is being organized in Cebu, Philippines on July 19, 2025. This carries the theme, “Understanding the Current Global Calamities and its impact on the Human Family“. Among those who are expected to attend are the lay leaders from the different organizations and various professionals including Catholic physicians.

There will be three main speakers who will share their knowledge and expertise on the assigned topics. The first speaker, a weatherman, will discuss the patterns of calamities happening through the centuries particularly the uptick. of stronger typhoons and tornadoes. This will be followed by the second speaker, an infectious diseases specialist who is tasked to talk about the different kinds of emerging diseases that caused havoc in the last two decades, many of which are viral in nature and the possibility of more deadly diseases in the coming years. While the third speaker, a Catholic Bible apologist, will discuss the relationships between the ongoing and coming calamities in relation to the prophecies as foretold by Our Lord through His apostles. The whole day event will end with a Holy Mass.

The coming Jul 19, 2025 conference is organized by the HLI Pilipinas side-by-side with the FIAMC, the Catholic Physicians Guild of the Philippines and the National Council of the Laity of the Philippines.
