29 JUNE OSIJEK: PILGRIMAGE TO ILAČ

On the feast of the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary, June 28, 2025, members of the Osijek branch of the Croatian Catholic Medical Society made a pilgrimage to the shrine of Our Lady in Ilača.

It is a tradition of the Osijek branch to organize a thanksgiving mass at the end of the academic year, at which members thank the Lord for all the graces received in their professional and personal lives. This year, this was done through the hands of the Virgin Mary. In this light, the spiritual director of the branch, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sc. Rev. Davor Vuković, spoke in his homily about gratitude and the selection of God’s gifts in his heart, following the example of our heavenly Mother. After the Eucharist, there was Eucharistic adoration, and then a short tour of the Sanctuary, during which the local parish priest, Rev. Vedran Bilić, presented the history of the sanctuary. Graces could also be received on this pilgrimage, with the possibility of a full pardon in this pardoning sanctuary during the Jubilee Year. In addition, it is worth noting that in June of each year, the entire Society is consecrated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Heart of the Perfect Physician. At the end of the pilgrimage, there was a pleasant gathering of friends and colleagues.
