The new e-GLASNIK of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce, No. 1, 2025, has been published. We bring you the Word of the President of the Croatian Catholic Church and the Editor-in-Chief of the Gazette, Prof. Rok Čivljak, MD, and you can read the entire Herald on the Society’s website HERE!

We are beginning the XXXV year of our Herald and the new Jubilee Year 2025. In this Lenten season, the Church teaches and educates us to prepare ourselves for the celebration of the Paschal Mystery through pious exercises of spirit and body, instruction, prayer, and works of penance and mercy. Therefore, we invite our readers and members of the CCLD to look for preparation for Easter in these pages of the HKLD Bulletin, starting with the editorial from the pen of our spiritual director Prof. Ivan Bodrožić (CCLD and Lenten temptations), through the message of Pope Francis for the World Day of the Sick, scientific and professional texts concerning professional and ethical principles in end-of-life health care, all the way to the message of the President of FEAMC for Easter 2025 and the announcement of our upcoming activities and events.

In the first issue of this year, as is customary, we bring you reports from the Assembly of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce, which was held this year in Rijeka. In addition to the news from the headquarters, branches and sections, we prayed for all the deceased members of the Croatian Catholic Church, but also welcomed all the newly admitted members whom we invite to active cooperation. On the eve of the Assembly, we gathered around the Eucharistic table, at which the solemn mass celebration was led by the Archbishop of Rijeka and Metropolitan Mons. Mate Uzinić. Nabdiskup welcomed all the members of the Croatian Catholic Society from all over Croatia who gathered in Rijeka for the regular Assembly of the Society, and in his homily he referred to the passage of the Gospel according to Luke (Luke 5:27-32), which is precisely the patron saint of the Catholic Church: “The healthy do not need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” Therefore, the Archbishop told us that in our mission we approach both the healthy and the sick, all those who need the Word of God, and in this way we testify our belonging to the Catholic Medical Association.

We invite you not to miss the plan and program of activities for 2025, in which we celebrate the Jubilee Year under the motto Peregrinantes in spem – Pilgrims of Hope, in which at the beginning of April (just at the time when this issue of the Herald went to press!) we made a pilgrimage to Rome for a thematic celebration of the Jubilee dedicated to the sick and health workers, which we will inform you about in the next issue of the Herald.

May last year’s edition of the Way of the Cross with the Right Bandit, printed in the library of the Croatian Catholic Church, Signa cordis, help us in the Lenten preparation for Easter, which ends with this prayer:

Lord, thank you for giving me the grace
to accompany your Son on the Way of
the Cross of his Passion.
Thank you for the cross
of Christ through which I have been saved
by knowing you,
true and true,
the only and Triune God, Father,
Son and Holy Spirit,
who lives and reigns forever and ever.
End of story.

Greetings in Christ!
