21 October ‘….I believe in one God …’

ROME – Departure by aeroplane for Tel Aviv. Arrival and transfer to Galilee. Stay at the Stella Maris Sanctuary on Mount Carmel. Arrival in the evening in Nazareth.

22 October ‘…I believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ…’

NAZARETH – Departure by coach for the region of the Lake of Tiberias: celebration of Holy Mass at Lake Tiberias, crossing by ferry of the lake, visits to Tabgha (place of the primacy of Peter and the multiplication of loaves) and Capharnaum (synagogue and house of Peter), and climbing of the Mount of the Beatitudes. Stay at Cana and return to Nazareth for a visit to the hospital of the Fatebenefratelli in Nazareth.

23 October ‘…For us men and for our salvation, he was incarnate of the Virgin Mary…’

NAZARETH – In the morning visit to the Sanctuary of the Annunciation with the New Basilica and the Church of St. Joseph built in the place where the Holy Family lived. In the afternoon, climbing of Mount Tabor and visit to the Sanctuary of the Transfiguration, celebration of Holy Mass.

24 October ‘…I confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins …’

NAZARETH – In the morning celebration of Holy Mass at the New Basilica of Nazareth, departure by coach for the Jordan Valley towards the Dead Sea, the deepest geological depression in the world, about 400 metres below sea level. Renewal of baptismal promises at Qasr El Yahud, place of the baptism of Jesus. Stay at Qumran where in 1947 the famous manuscripts of the community of the Essenes were discovered. Arrival in the evening at BETHLEHEM, the town of the birth of Jesus and before him of King David. Dinner and night in the hotel.

25 October ‘…he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried…’

BETHLEHEM – In the morning departure by coach for Jerusalem. Visit to the Mount of Olives: the garden of olives in Gethsemane, the Basilica of Agony, the Chapel of Pater Noster, and the Chapel of Dominus Flevit. In the afternoon a Via Crucis along the streets of the old city and entry into the Basilica of the Holy Sepulchre on Mount Calvary. Celebration of Holy Mass at the Holy Sepulchre. Dinner and night in the hotel.

26 October ‘…I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life…’

BETHLEHEM – In the morning celebration of Holy Mass at the Basilica of the Nativity, visit to the Basilica of the Nativity and the grotto where Jesus was born, the Grotto of St. Jerome and the Field of the Shepherds, the place where the angels announced the birth of Christ. Meeting with the personnel of a children’s hospital in Bethlehem.

In the afternoon a visit to Mount Zion: the Upper Room, the Church of the Dormition, and the Church of St. Peter in Gallicantu.

BETHELEHEM – The whole day dedicated to the feast of Our Lady Queen of Palestine in Deir

Rafat. Celebration of Holy Mass with His Blessedness the Patriarch of Jerusalem Fuad Twal.

28 October ‘…they recognised him at the breaking of bread…’

BETHLEHEM– End of the pilgrimage at Emmaus, celebration of Holy Mass and transfer by coach Tel Aviv airport and departure for Rome.
