To commemorate the 26th year of the Divine Mercy Sunday, a Divine Mercy conference will be held on Sunday, April 12, 2026 at the Diocesan Shrine of the Divine Mercy in Maasin City, Leyte, Philippines.

It carries the significant theme, “The Divine Mercy & The Threats & Challenges in Our Times”. This year’s event is organized by the Divine Mercy Diocesan Council with the support from the Bishop of Maasin, H.E. Most rev. Precioso Cantillas, SBD, DD and the HLI Pilipinas, the Catholic Physicians Guild of the Philippines, the Diocesan Council of the Laity and inspiration from the FIAMC to organize events which strengthens the faith and morals not only among the Catholic medical professionals but also the general Catholic populace.

There will be two main speakers of the event. One, a diocesan clergy who will talk about the need to sustain the devotion to the Divine Mercy and to live up to the messages. While the second speaker, a layman, will focus on the current issues affecting the faith, the global peace and order situation and the challenge to the lay to accept the call for victimhood.

The Philippines being a predominantly Catholic Christian country undoubtedly carries the bigger role in terms of the open expression of the faith. The whole day’s event will start with the procession of the image of the Divine Mercy and culminate with the Holy Mass to be presided by the bishop of the Diocese of Maasin.
