Under the intercession of our patroness, Saint Gianna Beretta Molla, we at the Saint Gianna School of Health Sciences seek to serve the health care needs of the people in this region and beyond by preparing participants of this conference to transform health care at all stages of life by upholding the dignity of the human person through compassionate, courageous, ethical, and joyful care.

Learning Objectives 

  • Participants will reflect on their vocation as health care providers to allow for greater joy and satisfaction. 
  • Participants will understand the transformative power of suffering and its effects on patients and providers.  
  • Participants will appreciate religious and conscience freedoms considering truth and charity.

Dr. McGovern

A native of Escanaba, Michigan, Dr. Thomas McGovern completed his M.D. at Mayo Medical School and spent eight years in the U.S. Army that included infectious disease research at Fort Detrick, MD and a dermatology residency at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center, Denver. He trained in Mohs surgery and Cutaneous Oncology at the Yale University School of Medicine and has performed over 36,000 cases of Mohs surgery and facial reconstruction since 2000 at Fort Wayne Dermatology Consultants, where he is a partner-owner and current president.
